STP Strategy: Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning. A traditional marketing strategy that views the business-consumer relationship vertically. It divides into three phases: one-to-many, one-to-one, and many-to-many. STP was most useful in the first two phases. It remains an important concept even as communications marketing evolves into the third phase.
